The Legacy Program

    • Are you an African-American young woman attending high school in Alabama?
    • Are you planning to take AP Computer Science Principles (CSP) in the 2021-2022 academic year?
    • Would you like to ensure success in AP CSP?

    If so...then the Legacy Program is for you!  Legacy is a free program designed to help young African American women succeed in AP CSP.

    When? 

    • June 7-11, 2021 - virtual online Zoom 
      (you must be available from 830am to 400pm each day, no excused absences)
    • July 26-27, 2021- virtual online Zoom 
      (you must be available from 830am to 400pm each day, no excused absences) 
    • Fall 2021: Attend one Saturday AP CSP Study Session: Saturdays across various state locations
    •  Spring 2022: Attend one Saturday AP CSP Study Session: Saturdays across various state locations
    • May 2022: LEGACY Scholars must commit to taking the AP CSP exam in May 2022.

    Cost? 

    • Free to apply and free to attend. The program covers all materials and provides reimbursement for travel to the Fall/Spring study sessions. We even cover your exam AP fee! 

    Plus a Stipend!

    • Students who complete all program activities will receive a stipend of up to $2,000.

    Applications are now open and will be reviewed until all positions are open. Positions are limited, so early applications are encouraged!
