President Matt Massey

Mr. Matt Massey leads the Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering (ASCTE) as its President, inspiring innovation and excellence in this unique public state magnet school for grades 9-12. Under his leadership, ASCTE has grown into a national model, integrating cyber technology into the engineering life cycle. With an eye toward the future, he has developed groundbreaking curriculum, programs, and internships that enrich students from across Alabama. Mr. Massey collaborates with academia, industry experts, government entities, and nonprofits to ensure student success and foster a vibrant community of learning.

Before ASCTE, Mr. Massey served as the Superintendent of Madison County Schools, leading 27 schools with over 19,000 students. During his tenure, he championed advanced placement programs, increasing statewide AP participation and college-credit achievements. His dedication to education also includes years of classroom teaching, where he shared his passion for mathematics and mentored students and educators alike. Recognized as Alabama District 9 Superintendent of the Year, Mr. Massey continues to contribute to the state’s education system, whether as a curriculum innovator or an advocate for student success.

A National Board Certified Teacher, Mr. Massey holds degrees in Secondary Math Education (BS, Troy University) and Mathematics (MS, University of Mississippi), along with advanced qualifications in Education Leadership (MS & EDS, Samford University). Residing in Huntsville with his wife Jenny and their three children, Mr. Massey brings talent, dedication, and unparalleled vision to ASCTE, forging pathways for a brighter tomorrow for young learners.
